We invite you to walk with us as we serve the poor through film. St. Francis of Assisi called his friars “little brothers.” You can become our little brother or little sister in ministry to the poor by becoming a monthly donor.
“The Gospel compels us to unite with the poor in their struggle against poverty.”
-Gerard Thomas Straub

We make films for a fraction of the cost of a normal film company by operating very simply and capturing images naturally. In the production stage, our simplicity draws little attention, keeping the environment as real to everyday life as possible and leaving almost no trace of our presence. In the post-production process, many professionals within the industry offer their skills free of charge because they believe in the work we are doing and the power of these films.
Here’s how the process works in a nutshell: We come across someone who is working with and for the poor, empowering them through sustainable and transformational development, or simply doing the vital work of clothing, feeding, housing, and caring for those need. We raise the necessary funds to make a film, which features the people and place where their work is having an impact. The film, made at no cost to them, can now be used as a powerful fundraising tool.
The primary way we raise money to make these films is from individual donors who choose to sponsor a film with as little as $1,000 or as much as $15,000. Film sponsors receive a special thanks in the end credits of the film and can be a single person, family, church body, or school.
Please call (818) 563-1947 or email if you would like more information about sponsoring a film or becoming a little brother or little sister of San Damiano.
